how slowly the week passes by when you have to go for tuition EVERYDAY. yes. everyday. but i'm not complaining. [really, i'm not] better to have tuition than no tuition. :D hellos moolas. *welcoming wave*

there are a few things i've learnt from giving these kids tuition tho.. here are just some out of the many i thought was worth mentioning:

1) i've been blessed with SUCH HARDWORKING kids. its amazing. while i'm giving tuition to one of them, the other one is quietly sitting in another corner of the room doing work. i have never seen this in my life. homework is ALWAYS completed and tests are always studied for. wow.

2) the standard of English and Math at the international school they go to is so so much lower than in Singapore schools. its so simple that i can teach the sec 3 math. ME. ME and math. HA.

3) no matter how long i've been teaching there, the grandmother will always be at the table not so subtly listening to every word that's being said... and sometimes going away repeating a particular word i've been saying. perhaps i should be charging double for teaching boy AND grandma.

4) girls are better at language than boys [sorry, but its sorta true, except maybe for french. :P] which isn't good for me, cuz that means i only teach the boy, and the girl i'm not teaching.

5) for some strange reason, china kids [or just this particular one] have a problem pronouncing the word "price". thank God i'm tanned, or i don't know how to live down sitting at the table with kid and grandma, correcting him everytime he pronounces "price" as "penis". i kid you not.

kid: The penis of the book is 50Cents.
me: (points to the word)Price.
kid: Penis.
me: (tries not to laugh) Price.
kid: Penis.
me: (*exasperated* + *embarrased*) PR-ICE!
kid: PRE-NIS!
me: *GAH*

ah well. i'm thankful that at least he didn't ask what a Penis was.
