i was pretty impressed this morning cuz i realised that during the whole CORS system [this online registration for NUS to bid for their modules] i didn't have the urge to pour out my frustration on my blog. i obviously thought too soon. this thing is a headache and a half, and then some.

it is, also, where i work. and so i still have to entertain calls from highly agitated students demanding an explanination as to why the bid points are so high that they cannot secure any module, when i'm having the same infuriating problem on my end. sigh. CORS help-person job description: get yelled at. thank God its my last day.

ah well. at least this time around i had vivien working with me, which made things quite fun. at least there was someone around who appreciates me getting cranky and imitating weird voices from students... ranging from the slow, drawl of half-asleep voices, to kancheong spiders on speed. and she's used to me, so she won't think i'm weird. [or maybe she already does, but who cares, she's weird herself] plus, whenever i'm bored there was always someone i could poke fun at for her SHORTcomings. :D [that was a strange awkward sentence.]

anyways. had the 2nd tuition yesterday. i realise its easier teaching the younger girl than the older boy, though his english is better, cuz he's just a bit more egoistic -- always assuming he knows it already and so is pretty shut off to my explanations when he gets it wrong. so he keeps getting it wrong. men. *ducks for cover* but anyways, they're headed back to shanghai for the new year. i hope they come back. please, come back.

oh one interesting point tho: their father [who was sitting on the couch and listening to the whole lesson, whats UP with this family?] came and spoke to me after the lesson was over and he actually said [get this] that my spoken chinese was really good! like i could explain clearly in chinese, AND, he said that my chinese sounded more like theirs, rather than singaporean.

hahahahhaa. take that all you chinese teachers [and friends] who laugh at my mandarin. i how don't speak mandarin funny. i rock.
