talk about a good getaway. :)
i just came back from KL last night, and even though it was only for a coupla days, it was a good, well rested weekend away from thinking too much, and just enjoying myself. i must say that we had a really good deal from the agency - 3days 2nights accomodation plus the 2 way coach ride for only 99dollars. yeah, so in that way we were really blessed, not to mention with good weather, good health and safety. especially when mel vivien and i went clubbing one of the nights just us three girls. you can imagine how unsafe that was. but the music was fantastic, and the place was really cosy. just that there were a few more than desperate fellas from a particular racial group i will not say which. grrr. amazingly, the whites and blacks and most locals there left us the hell alone, so that was good. there was one particular fella we all agreed was loser of the night, who tried so hard to dance.. or rather "dance" if you can call wriggling your body violently not in beat with the music dancing... um, yeah tried so hard to dance with us, and ended up offering us what? wriggleys. chewing gum. CHEWING GUM. i could hardly believe my eyes when he tapped me on the arm and offered the packet to me. i had to take a second look because i thought it was like his number or something, but i guess i was thinking to highly of him "rolls eyes" i didn't know whether to laugh or cry, but Mel was so pissed off with him by then she was like, " i dont want any, GO AWAY!" heh. Mel one, wriggleys zero. man. i've heard of people buying girls drinks, but chewing gum? that takes the cake.
talking about cake, this was definitely a trip of overeating. i think we can all agree that we had an excess of good food for every single meal, plus snacks along the way. i know i must sound like a suaku-sai, but i hardly go into malaysia all that often! so when i see things like baskin robins and dunkin donuts and a&w i get really excited. but yeah, the food was fantastic. we ate pretty much like kings with coca and fish & co for less than half the price it is here in Singapore. good company, good food, good shopping. this is the life.
oh but this is also the first time i can say that i felt sick after going on a ride. mel viv and i went on some rides while xinwei and paul did more shopping [and bought a reaaaaally nice pair of fcuk shoes]. it was called some DNA mixer thing, where its like astronaught training. my goodness, that thing lifts you up, suspends you upside-down in mid air for a bit, then does bout 5 rotations before you can say 'oh shit'. yup. then it does the same backwards, and then sideways. i think it was probably the worst 2 minutes of my life. after the first set of rotating, i honestly felt like my brains were in my sandals and my wanton mee in my eye-sockets. it probably was such a sight to see us when we got down from the ride...and promptly made a dash for the toilet. heh. after that we had to sit for 45mins just to get our organs back to their original positions. viv's lips were white, and i'd never seen mel look so green in my life. i must've looked like a train ran me over several times too.
but all in all, it was a great trip, we all had good fun. but i'm never going to take clean toilets and the availability of toilet paper in Singapore for granted again, as well as the cleaners and sweepers here. and i'm pretty proud to say that we even managed to take the bus and monorail system a coupla of times instead of taking a taxi everywhere since it was dirt cheap. the 2.2 exchange rate ROCKS, i tell you. [oh, and so does vincci. heh.]
