so New Moon was painful to read.
and this is saying a lot since i am biased and love anything vampire. i even thought that the first twilight movie wasn't half bad (i know right? gasp). but the second book? f*ck me.
*some spoilers*
first of all, what in the world happened to the vampires? even the twilight haters want to have as many bella + edward stills to make fun of (like this gem: http://9gag.com/gag/9644 ).
but what really gets me is all that heartache imagery. i admit that the first time i read about the character suffering from a pain in her heart/difficulty breathing/curled up in a ball, i felt a familiar ache in my own chest.
but after the 37th time i read about the rips and holes in hers all i can say is hey stephenie meyer, how about learning some new phrases eh? she's heartbroken. i get it. it hurts so bad she can't move. i get it. how bout not filling your word limit with variations of "she felt a violent ripping of the holes in her heart and had to put her arms across her chest to keep from doubling over" and lets see some vampire action?
grumble.
that said i am probably still going to read the third book. because i am patient like that. (you could possibly read that as "because i like pain", but whatevs.)
BRING ON THEM SPARKLY VAMPIRES.
ps/ yes, i know. you guys have warned me about how bad the books get after the first one. i wanted to see for myself, can?
