how quickly the vacation week flew by. (which to the non-nus going people, lasted from saturday through to thursday. yes, we know its retarded.) i can hardly believe its already mid-way through the week AFTER the break. i have just printed the last of 3 essays, marking the end of the first wave of assignments, tests, and more assignments. its strange, but if i remember correctly it is usually this time of the semester when i'm in the canteen nearly the whole day rushing these neverending assignments, accompanied by neverending cups of chinese tea and neverending good conversations (which didn't exactly help the neverending assignments, but which were more than extremely welcome). but this semester i find myself at home, not quite as stressed as i remembered being, banging out the essays tea-less and conversation-less in less than 3 hours.

no i seriously doubt i'm actually getting the hang of doing assignments and actually focussing on my work for once, because i'm not. rather, (although i hate to say it) i think i'm just in a bo chup (heck care) mood and just "smoking" through my essays. (smoking: mindless winging through it/talking about practically nothing at all but trying your darndest to sound intelligent and hoping that the lecturer can't tell the difference) maybe i just shouldn't speak too soon because this is only the first wave of essays, and nus lecturers tend to be less kind with the second wave.

i do have to confess something tho. i've just done the most fun essay in my life. at the risk of sounding like a complete push-your-glasses-up-on-your-face kinda nerd, i totally enjoyed doing the essay for my 18th Century Lit module where i had to hand in my own piece of writing, imitating the style of one of the authors in the module (HOW FUN IS THAT!!) i just hope the fun level in doing the essay corresponds directly to the grade level that i'll be receiving...

i can only hope.
