became a reporter for 2 hrs today.
i must say this whole media/tv thing is very very interesting. not the being part of those infront of the camera bit, but rather the process is interesting. i knew it would take a lot of takes, but i didnt realise how many till today. every camera angle shot takes bout 7 takes, and i don't realise how much i take the diff cuts and diff angles for granted. yeah i know the more angles there are the less boring the shot, but i never realised HOW many. and that the actors act out the entire scene again and again, and its not just isolated parts of the scene. nevermind. i'm rambling now.
i have no idea who the main actors are, tho. the main actor was the same fella who sang like a chinese coffeshop uncle at a karaoke bar at the old parliment house the other time with vic. yes, it took me a while to place him. not like it helps, since i still don't know who the hell he is. the girl...aye the girl... she is nice, no doubt, but she was totally the channel 8 actress trying very hard to 'cross over'. for like the first 5 takes i couldnt really understand what she was saying. " let him go!! he's innocent, i've got the fax to prove it!!" and for the longest time, i thought she had some evidence on some fax paper or like she's got the fax machine which was actually the murder weapon or something. it finally dawned on me after almost an hour... she had the FACTS to prove it [the sentence still weird]. but yes. the lil 'k' sound makes alllll the difference. doesn't help that she kept saying 'scuse me, scuse!!' in the scene. i think jacq and i made an ultra conscious effort not to raise our eyebrows. haiyahhh very sad lah. but the 'lawyer' was brit i think, and she's so good [an actress]. she's also pretty hot. just that she's got this perpetual pout and overplucked eyebrows that just makes u wanna laugh sometimes.
heh. so much for local tv. the cheena-ness has invaded all aspects of life in this country. but on the whole it was interesting tho... these lil jobs always set my brain off running to God knows where. oh well. :)
